As the weather in central Ohio cools, the Crew’s lineup and fans excitement have begun to heat up. Playoff soccer, maybe the last at the MLS level to take place in Columbus for a while (hopefully not).

The Crew may have found vintage Higuain at the perfect time as only four regular season game remain. Higuain had been struggling with productivity for some time, but ended those struggles with a goal and an assist. The Crew have also received much-needed help of Milton Valenzuela and wing support from Cristian Martinez. Gyasi Zardes has been a constant force in the attack while Will Trapp has anchored the defense. The Crew appear ready for the playoffs, but they have yet to cash their ticket to the 2018 MLS playoffs.

The Crew are currently in fourth place in the playoff standings and could potentially find themselves hosting the first round. Upon advancing, the Crew would merit another home game in the conference semi-finals which could mean two more games at Mapfre stadium.

Regardless of what happens with the relocation saga, this fall is do-or-die for the Columbus Crew and their fans. While hope abounds for igniting a Columbus-Cincinnati rivalry and finding a new owner, here’s to living each day as it might be your last.
