Last week Ohio State Football camp commenced, and this week the media was allowed to attend various workouts and events. But what about Urban? Contrary to what may be expected, the practice was run with military precision and the gap left by head coach Urban Meyer’s absence was virtually unperceivable.
What is shaping up to be an impressive season as many have the Buckeyes ranked in the top 5 teams in college football, seems to not be marred by the looming allegations surrounding Meyer. While some may feel he needs to be removed and others feel he did no wrong and should be cleared of all accusations, what is clear is that the show must go on. Ohio State cannot let a few bad eggs spoil the rich tradition at OSU. But neither can it tolerate any sort of hiding of wrongdoing especially when domestic abuse is involved.
For now, football is the focus and whenever there is a decision made on coach Meyer, football will be what refocuses the team and the Ohio State community. The sooner this gets resolved for better or worse, the sooner the university and team can move forward.
